Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 15, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how TrackAtHome, operated by Damian Bast ("we", "us", "our"), handles data across our software and website.
1. Desktop Application (macOS)
TrackAtHome is a local-first application. Your LinkedIn analytics data is processed and stored entirely on your computer.
- We do not collect, access, transmit, or store any of your LinkedIn data.
- We do not include telemetry, usage analytics, or crash reporting in the application.
- The only network request the application makes is a license key validation to our payment processor, Polar.sh. This request contains only your license key and receives a valid/invalid response.
Your database is stored locally at ~/Library/Application Support/com.trackathome.linkedin/ and is never synchronized to any external server.
2. Chrome Browser Extension
The TrackAtHome Chrome extension operates locally within your browser.
- It reads LinkedIn page data from pages you visit as a logged-in LinkedIn user.
- All collected data is sent exclusively to the desktop application running on your computer via a local WebSocket connection (localhost).
- The extension does not transmit data to any external server, third-party service, or our infrastructure.
- We do not access, store, or process your LinkedIn login credentials or session cookies.
3. Website (trackathome.com)
When you visit our website, we may use the following technologies only with your explicit consent:
Cookies and Tracking
- Facebook Pixel: Used for advertising conversion tracking and audience measurement. Only activated after you consent via our cookie banner.
- Google Ads: Used for advertising conversion tracking. Only activated after you consent via our cookie banner.
If you reject cookies, no tracking scripts are loaded and no tracking cookies are set. We do not load tracking scripts before you make a consent decision.
Consent Storage
Your cookie consent preference is stored in your browser's localStorage (not as a cookie). This is classified as "strictly necessary" storage for recording your preference and does not require consent itself.
Data Collected via Tracking (when consented)
When you accept cookies, the tracking scripts may collect:
- IP address
- Browser type and version
- Pages visited and time spent
- Referral source
- Device type
This data is processed by Facebook and Google according to their respective privacy policies. We do not have access to individual-level data.
4. Payment Processing
All payments are handled by Polar.sh, our merchant of record. When you make a purchase:
- Your payment information (credit card, billing address, etc.) is collected and processed by Polar.sh.
- We do not store, process, or have access to your payment card details.
- Polar.sh may share your email address and license key with us for order fulfillment.
For details on how Polar.sh handles your data, please refer to Polar.sh's Privacy Policy.
5. Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of access: Request information about what personal data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Right to erasure: Request deletion of your personal data.
- Right to data portability: Request a copy of your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Right to object: Object to the processing of your personal data for certain purposes.
- Right to withdraw consent: You can withdraw your cookie consent at any time by clearing your browser's localStorage for trackathome.com, which will cause the cookie banner to reappear.
Since the desktop application stores all data locally on your machine, you already have full control over your LinkedIn analytics data. You can export it (CSV), view it, or delete it at any time by removing the application's data directory.
6. Data Retention
- Desktop application data: Stored locally on your machine indefinitely, under your control. Deleted when you choose to delete it.
- Website tracking data: Retained by Facebook and Google according to their policies. We do not maintain separate records.
- Purchase records: Maintained by Polar.sh according to their retention policy and applicable tax/accounting laws.
7. Data Controller
The data controller for this website is:

8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. If we make material changes that affect how we handle your data, we will increment the cookie consent version, which will prompt you to review and re-consent.
